City on the Verge is a quest in Dauntless. Quests are given by NPCs and provide rewards for successfully completing the objectives.
Quest Information
Kat has been impressed with the work you and your fellow Slayer recruits have done in the Sheltered Frontier. But before she sends you to face the dangers of the chaotic Maelstrom, Kat wants you to deal with some powerful Behemoths that have escaped that massive storm to lay waste to the islands nearest to Ramsgate—and to speak with some Ramsgate denizens who can be of help in your efforts.

Quest Start:
Katerin Sorrel:"You've hit some impressive milestones, Slayer, and just in time, too. That storm out there beyond the frontier? That's the Maelstrom, and it's undergone a... let's call it a "growth spurt." I can't explain it—that's the Orrery's job—but I do know that it's stirred up the Behemoths and sent them crashing into the formerly safe territories near Ramsgate."
"The Monstrous Verge? The Yonder Keys? They're gone. The Maelstrom has consumed everything out there in ways we haven't even begun to understand. But I do know this. Huge, full-grown Behemoths we've never faced on the Sheltered Frontier are showing up right on the city's doorstep."
"But I'm not going to throw away your life by sending you straight into the Maelstrom. First you need to meet two important people. Arkan Drew's forgotten more about aethersmithing than most ever learn. He'll ensure your lantern is up to snuff. And while he doesn't have a ship anymore, that Ostian admiral, Zai, is staying on to help with the fight. He'll get Ostian firepower into the hands of Slayers as soon as he can."
Quest Complete:
"You've done Ramsgate proud, rookie. No. That's not right. You've done all of us proud... Slayer. And you've earned the right to forge your own legend. So when you're ready to get back to the fight, talk to me. There are a lot of dangerous Behemoths out there in the Maelstrom that need your attention."
